You can feel free to check out all the different Pomodoro apps to find one you like, but TomatoTimer may be the easiest to use: It's a web app that doesn't require any installation and will work across platforms. If you want simple you can't get much more basic yet effective than this.
This timer functions as a Chrome addon and is available in the Chrome Web Store. It works both in Chrome browsers on standard operating systems and in Chrome OS as well.
Like other timer apps, Break Timer allows you to customize the length of your work and break periods. One of the more interesting options in Break Timer is the ability to set a beginning and end of the workday so that alerts will only appear when you're on the clock. If you don't want an intrusive break reminder that pops up on the screen, surprises you, or becomes an annoyance, you need Awareness.
Available for macOS and Windows, Awareness doesn't do anything besides ping you with the sound of a Tibetan singing bowl whenever a specified period of time has elapsed. The subtle nature of Awareness makes it great for those who want a minimal experience to remind them to stretch, relax their eyes, or get up and walk for a few minutes.
Time Out is also available via the Mac App Store. What happens during those breaks? Join , subscribers and get a daily digest of news, geek trivia, and our feature articles. Current Version 2. Downloads 27, Version Downloads License Free. Date 17 Oct Rest is a pleasant and effective means of acheiving this much needed end. Highly recommended. Best of its kind. I was looking for a really nice app that combined good design with highly customizable setting and I found it in Rest. I highly recommend it for people who likes good design and needs a highly customizable product.
This app is really a great addition to my day. I tend to work in long stretches of time with lots of focus, and this helps me take a more balanced approach by breaking that up into smaller time segments with short breaks. One idea for improvement would be the ability to overlay the exercises on top of the images. Thanks for the great app! I've tried many apps that help me manage my focus. Most of them work for a time, but they require far more interaction than Rest does.
Rest sits queitly and unobtrusively in my menu bad and does it's thing without much interaction from me at all. It's the perfect solution for me. The ingenuity shown with the name and icon is a special touch too - just like with a musical rest, it reminds me to pause every so often. The best feature? That it actually takes note of when I am idle and stops it's countdown until I start using my computer again.
